Long long ago, in a middle school galaxy far far away, a fledgling character was finally given a name. A hamster's name. Yes, Cappy was originally named after the Hamtaro character. At the time of his creation, he had a permanent hat as his shtick. That, however eventually went by the wayside, but the name stuck. (Since retconned to a preferred version of a rather embarrassing real name.)
